For the dress: (the tutorial is not for photoshop beginner)

1. a monochromatic layer of blue-purple

2. Add in rainbow gradient, removed some colors in editing and played with layer blend mode.

3. Used special effect brushes provided by photoshop and made those butterfly, custom brushes for the sparkles

4. Some editing on those bright spots, to create a lost and found flow.

5. Layer a photograph on the dress, play with layer blend mode to the desire effect and whoala~

The rest is just plain old building on with normal layers.

Wow, awesome...the progressive screenshots were really neat, and the end product looked really nice...I especially like the way her arms were posed, it was really natural-looking and quite graceful, with lovely slender fingers too. Her face also has this nice, wistful expression to it. The only thing is that for the folds of her dress, I'm not sure if you did this already, but instead of laying the pattern over the dress you could maybe use warp so the pattern could follow the folds a little more...it looks a little flat right now, though the colours were really lovely. Also I think what might help the glow effect is to have some tints reflecting off her arms and face, like the light bouncing off the dress. Still, it's quite breathtaking, and the goddess looks absolutely beautiful. ^^

From the sketch to the final piece, you have constructed a beautiful work of art. Not only that, but you are willing to share your secrets and wisdom to the rest of us. To be honest, I don't think I could have that kind of patience. I'm trying to see how well I can do and how much time I can put into a piece, but...wow.
