Just a small update for those who care to know~ Thank you.




Edepth is going OVA.

Storyboard for the first eps is already done, voice recording is on the way,
I am waiting for my voice actors to deliver their lines while working on my thesis.


Probably around 90 mins in total is what i can do on my own, for several years.

I am not even pitching it to any network, it's platform will be the internet and conventions,
it's staying Indie until I become my own corp.
I will likely only license for distribution rights, if it happens to become a success and someone wants it.
But no intellectual property of mine is leaving me.


I realize selling Edepth to any network means
I also need to transfer all my rights of my major set characters to that particular network who bought it,
if they buy it at all.
And my characters will be limited to what that network permits me to do.
If even the best deal is no good for me, don't bother trying.
Money is not my concern here.


To them, they are just buying that 1 sheep out of a thousand who are only too eager to sell them,
to me, that's the only little lamp I have.



Of course I can make more, but it's not the same.
You don't create a lively character without years of working on them.

No one wants to sell their family member away,
but they would send them out to wear uniforms to work.
That's how I will do it with my characters from now on.
My characters may mean nothing much to others,
but it's life memories that I have with them,
I have done too much with them to give them up
to those who will only treat them as intellectual properties.

They will have a work-for-hire mode, and personal art mode where they are in their original design.


It kind of sucks that none of my most treasured things can go commercial unless i make it really big myself, taking it the hard way. The Disney way, perhaps....
It kind of sucks that I have to give up my dream of ever airing my own personal series on Nick, or cartoon network, or Disney channels... I will still pitch shows I want to make for the networks, i want to try to become a show-creator, using my own characters as base and make self-parody to survive all the business side of things.

But for my most treasured possession, I will not sell them to anyone.


I have to be my own corp while I freelance and store up money myself, talk people into investing my work.
There's no other way. There's no high way for me, just the slow way.
